A New York Moment
I was packing up my street performing gear at the end of my busking day at the Union Square subway station. A lady came up to me saying “I was just talking about you!” She motioned to a few friends who were with her and said: “I was just telling them how mesmerizing your music is! Are you done playing in the subway for today? I will give you $20 if you played for us – you don’t even have to play a full song – just half a song, please?”
How could I refuse. So I re-set up and played (a full song). They were very happy.
As they left and I started to pack up my busking gear again, a crazy person walked by, singing in a zany voice “New York, New York, a wonderful town”. “It sure is”, I said to him.
It sure is.
