You Gotta Still Be Nice
As I started to play on the subway platform, a sanitation lady wearing glasses said ‘hi’ to me while she emptied the garbage can on my right. As she pulled out the can from the receptacle a lot of garbage came tumbling down onto the floor. Usually, it stays contained in the bag. So, she had to clean it all up. As she did, four people came to ask her for directions to the #4 train and to the downtown #6 train.
Saw Lady: “You are also an information center”
Sanitation Lady: “What you gonna do? You gotta still be nice. Thank G-d for the job, that’s all. Thank G-d for the job”.
A lady told me that she attended the Musical Saw Festival two years ago. She plans to come to this year’s festival, hoping it will be before her trip to Japan. In this trip tourists get to live with a Japanese family for two weeks, in order to get the authentic feel of Japan.
A guy stood by the pole, listening to my playing. He then said to me: “I’m going to keep listening. I’m going to sit in the “luxury department” (he pointed to the bench near by).

A kid told me she has seen musical saw playing in the movie ‘Cold Mountain’. I saw this movie but I don’t remember any body playing the musical saw in it… does anybody remember such a scene in this movie?
On the platform bellow Matt Nichols was playing his strange looking guitar.
Here is a video taken this past Christmas at the Grand Central Shuttle:
