Buskers discuss European tour

On my way to my busking spot today a Hispanic guitar player/singer got on the train. He recognized who I was and struck up a conversation with me. He asked if I was working today so I told him I was on my way to 14th street. He told me he will be working (singing on the trains) until 4pm. He does 6 or 7 hours a day. The unique thing about him was that he was selling his own CD! Now, train-station buskers do that all the time, but for an on-the-train busker – that’s unusual.

When I got to the Music Under New York spot Professor Edwardo Alvarez and his son were there, having lunch. We talked about the European tour they are planning and I gave them some pointers about which cities are good busking locations, which places to avoid and where to stay.
Edwardo didn’t have a permit for the spot today, so he and his son moved on to locate a different spot to play at.

Sean Grissom, the Cajun Cellist who is a long time subway performer walked by and waved ‘hello’.

The usual garbage lady wasn’t there today but her replacement was really nice – he kept cheering my music. He told me he didn’t know a saw could make sounds.

Somebody started playing an electric base downstairs and it was loud. My left hand was tired so I decided to call it a day.
